After breaking down both social barriers and emotional boundaries at its Korean premiere at Modu Art Theater, 

Jellyfish returns to the stage at Myeongdong Theater. 

From the onstage presence of the actors and the prompter to the carefully exchanged hand signals, 

the production has actively embraced and expanded inclusivity at every step—from creation to performance. 

With its clear, heartwarming message, Jellyfish opens up new possibilities for what theater can be,

 and now that same wave of change is set to reach every seat in the house once again.

We are all different from one another. 

And we all deserve the right to love who we choose.

Kelly navigates life between family and independence, trust and fear. She charts her own path with confidence and autonomy,

 but at times she finds herself at a crossroads, a dead end, or facing a road she’s never taken before. 

The people around her, each in their own clumsy yet sincere way, accept one another as they are,

 making up for one another’s imperfections and offering the courage to keep moving forward against all odds.

The characters’ differences raise questions about diversity and challenge the prejudices that persist in society. 

As we witness not only love and understanding, 

but also hatred and anger laid bare as part of the universal human experience, the line between disability and non-disability begins to blur.

In a life as unpredictable as the heaving sea, may these glimmering moments of connection reach everyone on their own adventure.

SYNOPSIS

Skegness is a small seaside town in the UK. For fifteen years, 

Kelly and her mother Agnes have spent their days walking the same stretch of beach, eating ice cream, and catching crabs. 

It’s a simple, familiar routine they share. 

One day, during a walk like any other, Kelly’s phone keeps buzzing. Prompted by her mother’s question, 

Kelly tells her she has a boyfriend named Neil. Initially, Agnes is happy for her daughter, 

but when she learns that Neil is non-disabled and works at the local arcade, anxiety sets in. 

The life she has carefully held together starts to unravel faster than she can stop it. 

Meanwhile, a tempest is gathering that will change the course of their lives…

First gained recognition by winning the Theatre Royal Haymarket’s Pitch Your Play Award and the Curve Theatre Leicester Playwriting Competition. 

He has been actively involved in the UK theatre scene, 

establishing the Old Red Lion Writers’ Group and participating in the National Theatre’s New Views Programme. In addition, 

he worked as a dramaturg at Curve Theatre Leicester, contributing to the development of numerous productions.
