Twists and changes joined by humor and fun

Mr. Heungbo makes audience burst with laughter with its extraordinary reinterpretation of a classic. Moving to Myeongdong Theater at the heart of Seoul, it is getting ready to meet the audience again. Director Koh Sun-woong, who brought the charms of changgeuk all the way to France with Madam Ong, will offer a much braver and unbridled performance. Swap of older and younger brothers, an alien monk, Mr. Heungbo is getting enlightened under the Bodhi tree - it would be impossible to predict where this audacious imagination could possibly end. Hurry if you missed the sold-out premiere run and enjoy the exciting humor and fun!

Director Koh Sun woong

Koh Sun woong is renowned for his creative directing and original playwriting. He amazes the audience with his brilliant twists in the emotional flow and/or structure of the play. His plays are humorous enough to make the audience have a good laugh, but his true brilliance lies in the fact that they make the audience not only laugh and fun but discover the tragic reality and essence of life hidden behind the humor. Mr. Koh participated in the college drama club in his university days. After having worked for an advertising company for four years, he entered the field of performing arts by writing a play. In 1999, his play “A Woman in the Gloomy Landscape” won the Annual Spring Literary Contest organized by a newspaper company, called HankookIlbo, and in the same year he also debuted as a director with his play “Rock-Hee-Man-Show.” The play “On a Clear Day,” directed by Mr. Koh, won the 2011 Korea Theater Awards for Best Theater, Best Director, and Best Play. His “The Orphan of Zhao” won the most renowned awards in the field of performing arts, including the 2015 Dong-A Play Awards for Grand Prize and Best Director, and the 2015 Korea Theater Awards for Grand Prize and Best Director, and the Director of the Year awarded by Korea Theater & Directors Association.

Music Lee Ja ram

Lee Ja ram is an actress and pansori singer who has developed her own artistic style. She has been trying to explore how pansori can be enjoyed by more audiences. She also participated in Gukak-Musical Project Group Taru and Pansori Project ZA as their artistic director.
