“A production of depth, ambition and creepy power” - The Guardian.

A contemporary reworking of Aeschlyus’ classical trilogy The Oresteia!

Playwright Zinnie Harris’ This Restless House, which received critical and audience acclaim upon its UK premiere in 2016, is staged with a challenging and sophisticated directorial style at the hands of director Kim Jeong, who has been active in the Korean theater scene since winning the 2017 Dong-A Theater Award for Best New Director.

Clytemnestra unleashes her rage and seeks vengeance after Agamemnon sacrifices her beloved daughter Iphigenia for a greater cause, and Electra is tormented by the terrible curse of her parents’ ghosts. The curtain rises on the story of the royal family’s ruthless vengeance!

The most anticipated production of the latter half of the year, This Restless House brings to the stage a cast of fifteen actors, who unfold a bloody family revenge tale through their brilliant chemistry and tremendous ensemble! Combined with this is the unique sensibility of director Kim Jeong. This must-see show will run for a strictly limited period of four weeks at NTCK's Myeongdong Theater.

SYNOPSIS

Agamemnon makes the terrible decision to sacrifice his daughter Iphigenia in order to fulfill the will of the gods and to win the war. As a result, the entire family is slowly consumed in a bloody quest for revenge. The ensuing maelstrom of fear, madness, suspicion, betrayal, and guilt leads to more victims and revenge – as if the curse that haunts this family will never end...
