“What if YOU were dead,

then would everything have remained the same like this…”

Only the closed locker stands still, but everything else has changed.

One day running up to the midterm exam,

Da-eun dies from an accident.

Suddenly, her friends are put into psychotherapy,

but they think “it’s probably NOT for us.”

Hye-min, Han-gyul, Jae-woo and Yeon-ju

prepare for the midterm as usual.

“Everything’s the same. Nothing happened.”

But things turn out differently from what they expect.

Fear, doubt, guilt, envy, and neglect.

All these precariously tangled emotions

knock on Da-eun’s firmly closed locker.

“Why did you try to open it?”

The renowned Khoo Ja-hye’s sharp-eyed production with

the play of 5 characters, who are somewhat twisted yet vividly real at the same time,

presents you with an unforgettable experience.

Written by Kim Jee-hyun

She has a great interest in the Sewol ferry sinking and issues of adolescence. The playwright believes that aplay facing issues of adolescence is a play written for them regardless of whoever is protagonist. So she observed an era when children died due to the wrongdoing of adults and wrote a story about “survival” and “death”, <The locker>, which is her first and debut work.

Produced by Khoo Ja-hye

She is a playwright and producer who fiercely explores the issue of our society and life so her works including <A Study of Perpetrators: with an Appendix for How to Write an apology>, <A sense of Ethics>, and <Killing Time> show her true colors. After participating in ‘National Theater Company of Korea’s Young Artists’ Exploration: poem‘ where last year she presented a documentary-like showcase, demonstrating the language adolescents use in real life, she is now producing a stage reading of the playwright, Kim Jee-hyun’s first work, <The Locker>.
